Reset machine

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Arcade.
Submitted by quan_chilli on 06/15/03.

In version 2.0, choose Kabal and when it says "Finish Him!", Hold High Punch (Forward - Forward - Down - Forward) and release. It will reset the game. In the next version, they changed the button combination to his Animality.

Shao Kahn or Motaro in one player mode

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Super Nintendo.
Submitted by redfalcon on 06/05/03.

First, make sure smoke and the two bosses are enabled and make sure pause is too. start a one player game. At the select screen press start on P2 and do stealth select with both controllers(d-pad counter-clockwise). Manage to put both invisible cusors on the same characters(corner characters are easier) but let the selection time run out. The game will go to the choose your destiny screen, do so and start the match which should now have turned into 1-player mode. when the match starts press start on P2, the game will pause, then press start on P1. You will return to the character select screen and Motaro and Shao Kahn's icons will appear after smoke's. Pick one of them and continue the game. You'll always be at the balcony(motaro) or pit 3(kahn) and you will be able to fight your mirror matches(be careful with motaro v. motaro, if the cpu launches those series of projectiles (and the two of you are close together) they'll simply bounce off the both of you until they go down out of sight and the game will mess up alittle. Ending the game with either boss causes the game to freeze after the " kahn is no more...you are the new mk champion" thing. The screen goes black like an ending is forthcomming but it locks right there.

Liu Kang left on the screen

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Genesis.
Submitted by Richard Walker on 03/15/03.

In a 2 player game, fight your way to 'The Street' stage. Make sure Player 1 is Liu Kang, and player 2 is Sheeva. When there is is one move left to finish off Sheeva in the winning round, do the bicycle kick(Hold LK for 4 secs). As a finishing move, do a sweep kick, but for some reason, it will be an uppercut, and the screen won't follow Sheeva(Even in the corner)! So Liu Kang is left on his own in the middle of the screen. The 'GAME OVER' screen will appear after doing the glitch.

Weird Stage After Winning the Game

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Genesis.
Submitted by ElderGodSmack on 01/27/03.

I'm pretty sure you can be any character, but I'm usually Sub-Zero and it's been a while since I've done this glitch.

1. Go to Shao Kahn, and beat the game.
2. You know that scene as the souls start flying outside of him, and it swithces screens from Shao inside the Pit 3 to outside with the portal and souls? Press start on Player 2's (or Player 1's...depending on who you are) controller, at the time that the scene switches to outside with the portal. If you press start when it shows Shao, you'll just end up back at the Pit 3.
3. If you pressed start at the right time, it should take you back to the character select screen. Notice anything different? There's no stage name at the bottom. (If it says Pit 3 then you did it wrong).
4. Choose your characters and start this game. You'll be taken to one messed up-ass stage. You're kind of floating on the ground, and on occasion, on the second round, the sound gets all crazy. Sometimes it crashes the game, but I usually get lucky.

Air Babalities

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Super Nintendo.
Submitted by RickL on 01/25/03.

Put on both the "Quick Finish" and "Quick Uppercut Recovery" cheats in the cheat menu. As the last hit of the round, perform an uppercut, and then immediately hit the button to do your character's babality. Your opponent will then turn into a baby while still in mid-air, and won't come down!

Move around after you win

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Super Nintendo.
Submitted by RickL on 01/23/03.

If you’re using Sindel’s fly move, then hit the person with an air fireball as the final hit, you’ll be able to control her after it says “Sindel Wins”. Pressing Block ends this ability.

Invisible Shang Tsung trick

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Super Nintendo.
Submitted by ]{0MBAT on 01/23/03.

Pick shang tsung, morph into cyrax. Wait about 10 seconds (its easier if you hold block). Then do a net attack. Quickly morph into sheeva, and fireball them while they're still in the net. The game will fuck up with different results if you're P1 or P2.

Sheeva net glitch

Game: Mortal Kombat 3. Platform: Super Nintendo.
Submitted by ]{0MBAT on 01/22/03.

This has different results depending on if you do it with 1P or 2P.
1) At least one of the players has to pick Shang Tsung in a 2-player
2) Morph into Cyrax. BL, BL, BL. Wait about 10-15 seconds (it's easier if you hold block during this time).
3) Do the net move. B, B, LK. The further away you are from your opponent, the better.
4) You will morph back into Shang. Now Morph into Sheeva. F, D, F, LK.
5) Quickly do the fireball while they are still trapped in the net. D, F, HP.
6) Now the fireball should be "stuck" to them, following them wherever they go. It might render them invisible. Remember, it looks different depending on if you did this as 1st or 2nd player.
